About Don West Toyota

Having just received the inaugural regional dealer of the year award for North Queensland and our sixth Toyota Presidents Award - 1989,1992, 1998, 2002, 2003 and 2006 - and numerous sales, service, parts and business excellence awards over the years, we feel that all twenty-two employees at Don West Toyota operate as a team and we all strive for one goal - to serve our customers as best we can.

At its inception in January 1979 the Don West Toyota franchise consisted of company founder Mr Don West and five employees, rented showroom and workshop "out the back", small premises indeed when compared with the spacious showroom, twelve vehicle workshop and large parts warehouse existing on the same site today.

We purchased the premises about ten months after opening the dealership and in the early 80's we had to expand to allow for increased demand for our services. Three adjacent blocks of land with houses on them have also been annexed by the business over the years to make room for our ever expanding premises.

Don West Toyota originally operated as a member of the Toyota commercial vehicle franchise and in 1981 branched into Toyota passenger car sales, followed by the introduction of the Hino truck franchise in 1984.

One thing which hasn't changed since relatively humble beginnings is Don West Toyota commitment to ongoing customer satisfaction and we believe that the strength of the business is its continued emphasis on customer service. Our staff are our greatest asset - without first rate customer service you can't survive.
